Shepherd, we shoulda asked this way earlier, but ... my mun having played the card game version of this do the protectors know who we're going to oust every night? Or do they choose to protect a certain team?

They know who you're going to oust, but they only get 3 saves overall. Also if there's two teams ousted at night they can only save one of the two.
